Planning: Brainstorming (Titles & Sound)

We brainstormed the things we were left to include into the thriller, such as the title and the sound.
For the sound we did the obvious thing first and noted that we need dialogue, which we later wrote a brief script for:

Female1: approaching part of abandoned structure Guys what is this?
Male: I don't know/dunno
Female1: goes exploring further into structure
Male: She's been gone a while. Do you want me to go find her?
Female2: Yeah okay. Be careful.
Male: follows path female1 took followed by a noise of him being struck by something
Female2: Scream and run away
This is something that can be later changed or adapted throughout the filming process. On top of dialogue we also noted that we want to emphasize the noise of footsteps and broken sticks, these are sounds we can record ourselves or find from a website that offers free sound stock. This will depend on the weather, for example if it's too windy or raining it could ruin the quality of the recording, with it being winter months and a mixture of very dull weather this is something we'll have to take into consideration when we get to the recording stage. Another two sounds we noted are dramatic sound and sound that gives tension, which we can produce ourselves on a music application or use from a website that offers free music stock, although none of us in the group posses any experience or talent at creating music so going for the safe option of readily available music and/or sound effects is our best bet.
For titles we came up with a few different ones, which are:
  • Creepy
  • Wind
  • Alone
  • ?
  • Abandoned
  • Forsaken
From these we decided that Abandoned had the most potential in terms of editing a title and how it fits so well to our concept of the abandoned building/structure.
